ABOUT THE Designer
Tré Seals is a multidisciplinary designer based in the Washington, DC area. Inspired by the lack of diversity in the graphic design industry, Tré started the font foundry Vocal Type which crafts typefaces that highlight a piece of history from a different underrepresented race, ethnicity, or gender. These historically informed and extensively researched fonts are developed in a former horse stable built by his great-great-great grandfather that was converted into his design studio. Surrounded by personal and national history, Tré is raising a collective voice through design that is rooted in the past and vocal about progress for the future.
